They came to earthPestilence, War, Famine, Deathfour horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all. When Pestilence comes for Sara Burns town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed.Too bad no one told her Pestilence cant be killed. Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and hes eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer shes with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her and hers towards him. And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process....

Pestilence (The Four Horsemen #1) Reviews
Caught him in a good mood, I did.
"So... I haven't gotten sick."
"Astute observation, mortal."
"Is that just luck, or do you control who gets the plague?" I ask.
"Were you born with all your organs intact?" he responds.
"Yes..." I say cautiously.
"Good," he responds, "then I expect you to use the one beneath your skull."
Pestilence is such a sweetheart I swear! A mass murdering sweetheart but sweetheart anyway.
Whoever disagrees can come fight me.

Guys! Don't get so worked out! It's just a book! A good book, too.
It's fiction people.
How is the cover deceiving? A horseman of the apocalypse falls in love with hot chick. I mean that's not lovey-dovey romance, or post-apocalyptic adventure: it's romance of the dark-ish kind. Anyone can see that just by looking at the cover.
So Pestilence kills people?
"I came to conquer this land and its people, but instead, one of its people conquered me."
4.5 pestilential stars!

So this is pretty much just romance which is fine if you like that! But I just wanted to see a lot more dark aspects and more story. Now I did love the whole anti hero thing, and the whole kidnapper to lovers scenario! But again, it is predominantly a romance.
Honestly this was more a 4 stars than a 5 stars but I'm really angry at some reviews. I apologize to my non-Spanishspeaking friends, but my English still needs work. A poorly done translation (google translation so it will be very bad) is there in italic letters.
I almost stopped reading this book at 75% because it was soooooo gooooooooooood. This train of thought probably doesn't make sense to most people, but the beginning and middle were so great, I worried the ending wouldn't adequately pull everything together / would ruin it. I kept thinking, "How is she going to pull this together?!?!!?" But since the beginning / middle were amazing, I decided to have faith that the end would be as well.
The ending didn't completely ruin the book. But it did (view ...more
This book is an interesting exploration of how much downright evil romance readers will accept from a hero before deciding that he's unredeemable.
Based on the other reviews for this book, the answer is "a lot, especially if the cover is pretty."
The plot summary amply covers what's going on here, but in case you're wondering: this book is exactly what it says on the label. The hero is a harbinger of the end of days. He infects people with a horrible and painful disease and they die. He has the ...more
This book was recommended by a friend who loved it, several other friends have read it and all loved it. It has a nice cover and a great blurb, okay so the title doesn’t scream romance but once you’ve read the blurb it’s good.
My problem was much to my surprise I found I liked this but I didn’t love it like I’d expected.
I have to say with all the great reviews it’s almost certainly me, I am a picky reader and there’s a lot here to like.

I am eternally disappointed that I didn't finish this book sooner. I usually devour books of this length in a couple of days, a week at most, but I stalled so hard on this one and I regret it so much.
Pestilence is the story of one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse inflicting pain and disease upon the world. He has come because the world has become wicked enough to be considered irredeemable and therefore, the human race must suffer. Word of his arrival spreads as does the plague he brings. ...more
