When artists unite...
When Arkon's friend, Jax, chose a human to join it upset a balance. While the Kraken knew of humans, they avoided them due to their shared history. Meanwhile, humans have forgotten the existence of their creations. When Arkon and Dacchus help Jax they come to the attention of Macy's friend, Aymee. Arkon recognizes a kindred soul in her. Both have their place in their societies, him as a hunter and her as a medical assistant, but both long to create. When hunters come to The ...more
Wow!! I can’t tell you how much I love this world that Tiffany Roberts has created. Sci-fi Aquatic romance is my new jam. :) I highly recommend reading Treasure of the Abyss (The Kraken #1) before Jewel of the Sea.
I would consider Jewel of the Sea a "forbidden love" story. Arkan is a sea dweller who's half human and half, well, octopus. Aymee is a healer for her colony and a gifted artist. Arkan has always been on the outskirts of his Kraken brethren because he's an artist, as well. One meeting ...more
I have read a majority of this couples books and honestly I would never believe this Kraken series was written by the same people. The other books I’ve read have been pretty bland with no depth, but this series is not only unique but it’s got so much depth you can drown in it. The connection and the buildup between the characters is always fantastic and can be felt. Sometimes you can’t even get that from well developed authors, which again is something I don’t feel in their other books.

In JEWEL OF THE SEA—a soaring tale of love defeating obstacles—Tiffany Roberts’ exceptional world building sets you on the planet of Halora and into the loves and lives of both humans and kraken, intelligent bio-engineered creatures. I adored Arkon and Aymee from the start – two artistic people who long for more. Their loneliness of spirit brings the two together, as they see each other in ways no other being has done.
Artist and hunter Arkon is pulled by his desire for Amyee, while she sees a ki ...more
Absolutely loving this series! Who would have thought that men with tentacles could be so endearing? Enjoyed the storyline and anticipating more action in the larger story arc. Love this world and these characters. Very much looking forward to Dracchus' book. Long live the kraken and the women who love them!
The Kraken series is intriguing!
Aymee and Arkon are fascinated with each other. Even though Aymee’s parents and a few others are accepting of the Kraken, others are not sure. When the Hunters show up in town to investigate, there is danger for any involved with the Kraken.
I adore Arkon’s shyness, he’s so careful with his offerings, unsure of whether Aymee will be interested. He loves her art, given in return. They are tender and playful with each other, and when danger threatens them both, he fi ...more
With a name like “The Kraken” it is hard not to be intrigued by this scifi romance series. The futuristic setting is a colony on a planet that is not Earth. It is the home of both humans, whose ancestors came from Earth, and the kraken, a human-cephalopod genetic combination created by humans to mine a power source. Eventually, the kraken rebelled and the two species have lived apart for many, many years.
Of course, things cannot continue this way. It is when the species connect that these storie ...more
