Consort of Secrets (The Witch's Consorts #1) Reviews
DNF. It's too fairytale retelling for me. It seems to have mashed at least 2 fairytales into this story, possibly 3. It's possible it's a good book if you're into that sort of thing. Unfortunately I prefer my fairytales in the original or Disney format.
it was a really good read :) i recommend it if you want an easy going read :) =)
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and this doesn't in any way influence my opinion on it.
Warning: Slight spoilers of Rose's Boys
Lately I have been curious about reverse harems (RH) and since they are currently trending plenty of them have popped-up. I have been looking on amazon for reverse harem ebooks, I ended up purchasing a few (or several ;) ) I haven't read any yet. While in my pursuit for RH books I found Eva Chase, she has at least two series RH series and one of t ...more
Overall, I'd say this was a middle of the road read. I think it could have used higher stakes and a more adult themed story to match the reverse harem concept. Even so, it kept me engaged enough to want to learn how the storyline panned out. I give Consort of Secrets a solid 3. Read full review here: https://blog.reenajacobs.com/novel-re...

I have to admit that it had been positively ages since the last time I read a reverse harem novel.
And, Consort of Secrets is just the kind of book that if you are even a little bit interested in that genre, your interest is sparked right away. In a major way.
First things first, what amazed me more about this book was the fact that the pages were flowing so easily and quickly, that I ended up devo ...more
This is a well written novel, although it took me 40-50% to actually feel that the book was making a concentrated headway. It is definitely a slow burn, though having said that the novel itself does make its way into some reverse harem action. Once the story gets underway it manages to pull the reader in, and I am certainly going to move on to the next novel.
I have read a few reverse harem stories, but never really sought them out. CONSORT OF SECRETS sounded intriguing so I figured it was worth a shot.
Rose is a witch and it's time to take a consort and gain her magic or lose it forever. The problem is, is that her family and her betrothed are hiding things from her. Not only that, but she is drawn to her childhood friends more than the man she is expected to spend the rest of her life with.
I enjoyed the storyline. There was a lot of mystery involved ...more
I have been very into reverse harem fiction lately and while this is not the best of what I have read recently in that genre it is still quite enjoyable and a fun escape. I really like the characters and I feel like they are fairly well fleshed out and he story holds my interest. I think this series is stronger than the other books I have read by Eva Chase. I am reviewing this book based on an ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.
