The Other Wife (Joseph O'Loughlin #9) Reviews
I'm a huge huge fan of this series and the engaging beautifully drawn character of Joe O’Loughlin so I was very much looking forward to entering his world once again.
This story hits very close to home when Joe discovers dark secrets lurk at the heart of his own family. Add murder into the mix and you have a tense, addictive psychological thriller that explores the deeper truths hiding behind every family facade.

Michael Robotham never disappoints and The Other Wife is another excellent read.
Joe O'Loughlin returns in a family dominated story that opens with him called to hospital due to his father being in a coma after a fall. We delve into Joe's childhood and his relationship with his father, as he learns a multitude of things about him that he never knew before. Joe's emotions are pulled in many different directions as he searches for the truth regarding who hurt his father.

Joe O'Loughlin has always found his father a bit "distanced" but never imagined that there was a side to his life that Joe did not know about. What a shock!
Once Joe calms down a bit he begins to understand that there are lots of things about his father that he has either ignored or simply not understood at the time. He begins his investigation with the help of his old friend Vincent Ruiz.
As always, I am very reluctant to reveal more elements of the plot. In fact the blurb tells you all you need ...more
I did not realise that this was book 9 in the series. It read fine as a stand alone though and I really enjoyed it. Back to book one for me now !!
This novel is gripping from the start! The more Joe investigates the further the fall from grace for his seemingly perfect parents, the twists are unpredictable and saw me reading long into the night. I also loved that the book wasn't entirely focused on the investigation you got to experience Joe's personal struggles as he tried to balance finding out the truth as well as keeping himself and his daughters safe. Shamefully this is the first Robotham book I've read but it certainly won't be the l ...more
The latest book in the Joseph O’Loughlin series, The Other Wife is a cracker of a read that I dare you to be able to put down once you start. I forced myself only so I could savour the joy of a great story with characters I’ve grown to know and love and who are embroiled in a plot both dark and, for Joe at least, deeply, personal.
The book opens with Joe relocated to London with youngest daughter Emma, contemplating life after the death of his wife, when he receives the call adult children both d ...more
