Aquicorn Cove Reviews
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
Review will be posted in October. This was a fabulous book and I would recommend it. Combining magic with real topics (earth warming up/pollution + mourning and loss).
Aquicorn Cove is a lovely little graphic novel that packs a lot of sentiment into a fairly short read. I found myself particularly drawn to this title as it takes place in a small ocean village, and I absolutely ADORE oceanology and marine biology. While the story takes a very realistic look on pollution in the oceans and humanity’s part in preventing this, it gives us a bit of a fantasy twist with life lying beneath the waves.
The art in this book is absolutely breathtaking and worth the read ...more
I LOVE Katie O'Neill's books! They are just darling! I just read The Tea Dragon Society on a whim when I saw someone on YouTube mention it and it was just too adorable! I had to find out if she had more books similar to that one. Of course, when I saw that she had one available on Netgalley I had to see if I could review it.
Aquicorn Cove is beautiful in both words and art. It is the perfect kind of book that I would have adored when I was little. I love that this particular story takes place in ...more
This is SUCH an adorable story and I love Katie's art work. This is a bit more emotional than The Tea Dragon Society, but still just as lovely and great for a slightly older age group.
Not only does this book feature mind-bending gorgeous works of art, it holds so much meaning in its pages. Usually, books that evoke such truly beautiful pieces tend to not have an exciting storyline to tag along, but this is where Aquicorn Cove comes in to shake up the status quo.
When Lana and her father return to their seaside hometown to help clear the debris of a big storm, Lana remembers how much she’s missed the ocean—and the strong, reassuring presence of her aunt. As Lana explores the
This sweet story is gorgeously illustrated! I loved the aquicorns, and the message behind Lana’s tale. I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cute, lovely graphic novel.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this graphic novel in exchange for an honest review.
This story was so cute. I was pleasantly surprised by the focus put on the environmental aspect, it was quite well done and it got the message across. The style of the author is really lovely and I enjoyed all the illustrations, especially the ones regarding the sea colony.
I'm really happy to have discovered this new author and I can't wait to read more of her books.
Aquicorn Cove was delightful! Lovely illustration style, excellent story, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
