Archie, Vol. 5 (Archie (2015) #5) Reviews
For some reason I thought this was the end of this creative team and I just about cried. This was my fav story arc of the series (been reading since day 1) and I was not ready for things to change. GAH I love this.
"Betty's the heart of Riverdale, and now she's broken."
Umm... this series has taken such an unexpected turn and I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it. Vol 5 has been the most dramatic one yet and it kind of feels like they're turning the comics into Riverdale. Anyway I surprisingly really enjoyed this and I'm looking forward to volume 6.
Great arc and character development! Cant wait for the next volume!
This was a fun one. I didn't think that the art was as strong in this volume as in the previous one, but the story was still compelling. It must be tough to balance that eternal love triangle (or parallelogram if you count Dilton). I like that Jughead and Dilton are more than comic relief now.
3.5 stars, rounded up.
This volume reminded me why this is the ONLY dramatic Archie series I can take. No Riverdale, no Road to Riverdale, just Waid's Archie. And sometimes, even this one is a bit much to take.
Really great instalment in the series. Like how this one showed some of the issues a wheelchair uses faces. The illustrations were amazing in this issue, a lot of emotions were so well conveyed. The development of relationships between the characters was really great too.
