The first half of book was bad.
The second half was even worse.

Not Clean. Crude and Foul Language.
This was an easy Kindle First pick for me, as I read "The Perfect Roommate" by this author earlier this year and enjoyed it. I'm in the midst of reading "The Terror" by Dan Simmons and needed a break to read something lighter (though I'm not sure what it says about me that I consider a book about a missing woman who has possibly been murdered the lighter choice).
It's a fast paced book that's not overly long, I read this in an afternoon. Each chapter alternates the POV between sisters Meredith an ...more
I am teetering between giving a 3 or 4 star review. Good writing, interesting plot, clever and unique with fairly fleshed out characters lead me to give a 4 but then the ending........rushed and too pat. 3.5stars and that is generous --of course, that is just my opinion.. The story was just too superficial and one of the story lines was completely unbelievable. However, I still would recommend.
Great book! I read this book in a single afternoon. The stories twists and turns kept me guessing to the end. This should be on your reading list for sure.

Minka Kent is one of those authors who I think I’ll always follow closely based solely on the fact that she writes highly addictive and entertaining stories that I’m able to devour in a few hours. I’m always hooked within the first few pages and find her books to be incredibly hard for me to put down, what’s better than that?! While the bulk of this one was fantastic the ending was lackluster and left me wanting more making this my least favorite of hers to date.
The premise is nothing new, a wom ...more
Good book: quick read. Not a super sophisticated writing style, but a fun plot line to follow. Characters were not complex, but sympathic enough. It was a good light read, but not one I'd go out of my way to recommend or reread.
Not a fan at all of this book. The characters were vapid and the story line was just one that has been tried a number of times. For me unfortunately, this was not one of those books that kept one reading into the middle of the night.
I know this author has written a really great book before this. For me, this book was not great at all, so my recommendation is to give this one a bye and move onto a book that is a thriller that will truly thrill you. Although if you like a really quick read where y ...more
This book is fantastic and I couldn't put it down once I started reading it.
I binge read it in an afternoon and even though I needed to know what had happened to Meredith I didn't want it to end.
The storyline flows really well and hooks you in from the beginning of the book and doesn't let you go till you read the end.
This book gave me a plethora of emotions that will stay with me for some time.
I'm so glad I found the very talented author Minka Kent as she's a refreshing talent in the suspense/ ...more
