Little Big Love Reviews
I really enjoyed Little Big Lies, I would give it 4.5 stars. There wasn’t one character that I didn’t like or love. Katy Regan told the story from three alternating perspectives, Zac, the 10 year old son, Juliet, the mother of Zac, and Zac’s grandfather, Mick. Zac is determined to find his father who ran off when he was three weeks old and invite him to his 11th birthday party. This was such a well written novel.
Regan did a superb job at making each voice sound unique. Zac felt like a REALLY swe ...more
I usually like heartwarming novels, but I think "Little Big Love" by Katy Regan came off more cutesy than anything else. I couldn't connect to the writing style or the vast of characters (three different points of view/alternating chapters). I ended up skimming huge chunks. There were some funny, touching scenes, but overall, nothing about the plot felt memorable or wholly original. I had the ending pretty much figured out early on. I'm not a fan of predictable endings. The best part of the book ...more
Zac is a ten year old who is on a mission to find his father but nothing is as it seems. There were so many lies that had been uncovered and it really blew me away while reading. This was my first time reading this author and I enjoyed this book very much! It was written in three points of view and you could tell who was who which I sometimes have an issue while reading. So the fact that all the characters didn’t sound the same was a plus in my book. I would have liked a point of view from Liam’ ...more

A big story — simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming — about a family that fell apart after a tragedy that occurred ten years in the past and the young boy who now desperately wants to know his missing father. Part coming-of-age for 10-year old Zac and part coming-to-terms-with-the-past f ...more

This was not exactly what I had expected, but it was an interesting read anyways! Little Big Love is written in three changing perspectives - Zac, a young boy who is overweight and searching for his father; Juliet, Zac's mother; and Mick, Zac's grandfather who is hiding a few secrets of his own. That one night, years ago, everything changed, and the family only agrees on one thing: Don't tell Zac. But as he ...more

Over a decade ago, Liam Jones and Jamie Hutchinson were celebrating the birth of Juliet and Liam's son Zac, who is also Jamie's nephew. By the end of the night, Jamie was dead and Liam had fled town. The Hutchinson family all mourned Jamie's loss in their own way, but none of them chose a healthy route of grieving. They kept the secret from Zac that his father was involved in his uncles death, instead telling him that Liam "did a runner" befor ...more
This was an adorable story of ten year old Zac who is overweight and bullied and just wants to know why his dad left him.
Juliet, his single mother, tries to do her best for her very intelligent and imaginative son. However, the family has secrets that involve Zac's dad and only one person can get to the bottom of that secret.
Mick is the grandfather who sees a whole new world through his grandson's eyes and also holds a terrible secret.
Absolutely delightful read that I thoroughly enjoyed!!
Thank you Berkley Publishing for this book. A heartwarming story of a boy that will steal your heart. He is in search of his Dad. Through the story we learn he is being bullied, he is struggling with so many questions about himself, and trying to make the best of it no matter what. I love that the story is told by him, his Mother, and Grandfather. You get such different perspectives on the story and history of this family. Have tissues ready! Very enjoyable.
