The Difference Between Us (Opposites Attract #2)

I'm cursed. At least when it comes to finding Mr. Right.I'm tired of men that only want one night stands or blind dates that are nothing but awkward and uncomfortable. I'm tired of avoiding inappropriate text messages and the constant disappointment of always meeting Mr. Wrong. After all these years of dates that lead nowhere, I can admit that it's me. I'm the problem. I'm shy and picky and cursed. Definitely cursed. So I've decided two things. The first? I'm giving up dating and relationships and men in general. Maybe, possibly, forever. The second? I'm going to have to try harder to avoid Ezra Baptiste. If I couldn't hack it in the kiddy pool of dating, I certainly can't swim in his deep end. He's too successful. Too intense. He's all man when I'm used to nothing but boys pretending to be grownups. He's everything I'm afraid to want and so far out of my league we might as well be different species entirely. So he'll need to find a different artist to paint his mural. And a different graphic designer to help him with his website. He'll need to find someone else to glare at and flirt with and kiss.It can't be me.We're too different....

This series is shaping up to be a favourite contemporary series. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US delivered on the same quality writing and character development as book one. What I'm enjoying about this series and this book in particular, is that the chemistry is simply bubbling and yet the sexual description isn't front and centre. This was a slow burn and in Ezra's words 'the long game' and I appreciated the gradual development of connection over time, with true depth of feeling and nothing

“Don’t be fooled by the long game. When you’re serious about a girl, you can’t make your move too quickly. You get her to care about you first, fall for you. Then you take her to bed and show her she can’t live without you.”

I’ve been anxiously anticipating this story ever since we met its two lead characters in The Opposite of You, always suspecting that the courtship between two people with absolutely nothing in common would be a riveting one, but the way Rachel Higginson builds this slow b ...more

I remember the exact moment I fell in love with this series. It was somewhere between being introduced to a sassy heroine that was determined to make it on her own, and a brooding tatted up chef that had an underlying humor you couldn’t help but love. I wanted to be a part of that story so much because these were some of the best characters that I’ve had the pleasure of reading about in a long time and just to be in their circle for only a minute, would’ve made my day. Now we’re into the next

I was nervous about starting this since I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the first book of the series. In hindsight my zero expectations probably had a lot to do with my enjoyment of The Opposite of You, but I digress. That's all to say I wasn't surprised by any aspect of this story: the readability of Higginson's writing style, the sometimes funny inner monologue or dialogue, or the slow burn romance between the two MCs. Unfortunately, my lack of surprise also accounts for my sl

Another engaging read. I love the slow burn and the restaurant setting. Wasn't so sure about the crossed out text, it kept on yanking me out of my reading bubble.

Ezra was a strange one; according to the narrator Molly, he was surly and scary and argumentative, but actually in every scene he was perfectly amenable, sweet and swoony, so that was a bit odd.

The end was a bit rushed, I'd like to have seen some resolution with Molly's parents, but not a biggie. There were also quite a few typos in th

This is the second of Ms. Higginson's Opposites Attract series, and it doesn't disappoint. Ezra owns multiple fine dining restaurants and doesn't have the time or patience for a relationship. Molly is the designated single friend and is busy working her way up at work. If not for their mutual friends Vera and Killian, they would have never met. But Molly made an impact on Ezra and he's not willing to let her go just yet.

This was another cute read. There's more sexual tension in thi

4.5 stars -- I did receive an earlier copy of this book as a beta, in exchange for my oh-so-amazing opinions, and stellar typo catching (yes, there is some sarcasm there).  But I'm obviously going to write out my honest opinion, b/c I have one of those too (and it's wholeheartedly unbiased).

There's a reason Ms. Higginson is one of my favourite authors of all time.  While there may be elements here and there that don't always jibe with me personally, I ALWA
